About Me
I am a computer programmer by trade, specializing in computer graphics and real-time rendering systems. My main focus is in graphics (specifically material shading and illumination/light transport models), however I am interested in and have done work in areas ranging from information visualization to physical simulation to game AI.
From 2005 to 2008, I worked at Mythic Entertainment (which was subsequently purchased by Electronic Arts) as a software engineer on the upcoming MMORPG Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning.
Before working for EA/Mythic, I was an undergraduate student in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at the University of Virginia, in Charlottesville, Virginia. From 2001 to 2005, I majored in Computer Science and while there worked as a research assistant in the Computer Graphics Research Group.
During my time with the Graphics group, I worked with Dr. David Luebke on real-time image synthesis using programmable graphics hardware (specifically, ray-tracing and photon mapping) and with Dr. Greg Humphreys on information visualization in complex multi-user simulations. The latter resulted in a paper which I presented at the IEEE Symposium on Visualization in 2004.
